Welcome to Breckland Skies!
Breckland Astronomical Society is based in the dark skies of Great Ellingham in Norfolk, and has its own observatory housing a 20″ reflecting telescope. You’ll find more about the society, past and present, in these pages, so feel free to look around!
***We are currently doing Virtual Talks on Zoom or Google Meet***14 May 2021: James Webb Space Telescope Emma Curtis Lake (IoA)
Google Meet is a web-based meeting app where you can simply click a link, enter a waiting room and be let in to the talk. Zoom.us is similar but requires a small download. Your camera is optional, but your mic should be muted while the talk is running unless you need to chip in a comment. You can type live comments which the hosts can put to the speaker as appropriate.
Times: join 19:20-19:30 for 19:30 start. Society admin for 5 min, then lecture, followed by questions. By 9pm most talks should be finished.
Small donations are welcome to cover our costs, via the website donate button or by contacting the treasurer (above).

We hold free public observing nights on the last Friday of the month. The next one is currently scheduled for 28th May 2021 at 9pm.
