***Virtual Talk on ZOOM***

14 August 2020: The Green Flash Mike Frost (BAA Historical Section Director)

Abstract
Mars is the obvious target for space exploration beyond the Moon.  The history of Mars exploration has been chequered.  Professor Southwood has worked at different times with the Russian, American and European programmes in Mars exploration.  He describes it as a mixture of delirium, delight and disasters.  He will share some memories and also look at what we now know about Mars and what space agencies can now do and are planning to do to explore our near neighbour in the Cosmos.

Please contact chairman@brecklandastro.org.uk or treasurer@brecklandastro.org.uk or breckland_astro_newsletter@gmail.com for the meeting log in details, giving a reasonable time to reply.

Zoom (use 5.0 or onwards) is available as a free app, or we can send a web-link to click on to join. Zoom is interactive, so your cameras are optional, your mic will start muted, and you can type live comments so please leave your mic off during the lecture.

You join a virtual waiting room and the host will approve you. We may start a little later in case of any delays at this stage. We want some good questions and discussion at the end as usual. End 9:15.

Small donations are welcome to cover our costs, via the website donate button or by contacting the treasurer (above).
